Before your session:
Contraindications and Precautions: Review these guidelines carefully. Contact me with any questions or concerns.
Medications: Most prescription drugs are acceptable, but confirm with me if you’re unsure about any specific medications.
Substance Use: Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours prior.
Rest: Ensure a full night’s sleep before your session.
Emotional Release: Focus on and express your feelings if seeking emotional release.
Activities to Avoid: No sweat lodges the week before. No water fasting, liver flushes, enemas, or colonics 3 days before. Avoid hot tubs and saunas 1 day before to prevent electrolyte imbalance.
Rescheduling: Notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule.
The day of your session:
Fasting: Refrain from eating for 12 hours prior. Have a nutritious meal the evening before.
Low Blood Sugar: If needed, drink non-caffeinated herbal tea with honey and bring a snack for afterward.
Fluid Intake: Limit morning fluid intake to a cup of herbal tea or a few sips of water.
Medications/Supplements: Avoid taking any the morning of your session. They can be taken after.
Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable layers.
Menstruation: Kambo may increase flow for 24-36 hours and affect your cycle.
Contacts: If you wear contacts and plan to use Sananga eyedrops, bring a contact case or wear glasses.
Duration: Plan for the session to last 2-3 hours.
Comfort Items: Bring a pillow and blanket for rest.
Post-Session: Set aside time to relax and integrate the experience.
After Your Session
Substance Use: Continue avoiding alcohol and recreational drugs for 24 hours post-session.
Self-Care: Be gentle with yourself, as you may feel more sensitive.
Integration: Spend time reflecting, connecting with the spirit of Kambo, and engaging in activities like walking, journaling, or meditating.
Emotional Support: Past emotions may surface; seek support if needed.
Recommended Clothing
Comfort: Wear loose, comfortable clothing and avoid tight jewelry.
Extra Clothing: Bring a change of clothes if needed.
Layering: Dress in layers to accommodate temperature changes.
Kambo Points: Wear clothing that doesn’t interfere with Kambo points. Discuss point locations with me beforehand.
Hair Tie: Bring one if you have long hair.
Considerations if you are hosting a Kambô session
Privacy: Choose a private, quiet location.
Pets: Ensure no pets or animals are present.
Bathroom Access: The bathroom should be easily accessible and on the same level as the session space.
Noise: Expect some noise during the session; inform others to avoid disturbances.
Smudging: Smudging is part of the session, so ensure smoke detectors won’t be triggered.
Kitchen Access: Have access to a kitchen for heating water, preparing herbal infusions, or heating soup.
