Tratamientos de Kambô

Sesiones Privadas y Grupales

Private sessions and Kambô circles

Private sessions have the benefit of a one-on-one experience and the full attention from the practitioner.

Kambô circles offer a unique way to experience the medicine in a group environment which can be a powerful experience. If you know other people interested in taking Kambô you could host a Kambô circle and save money.

Considerations when hosting a Kambô session

  • Make sure the location is private and with low noise levels.

  • Make sure there is close access to a bathroom(s) at the same level (no stairs). Enough toilets in proportion to the number of people participating.
  • Some music, rattling, and noise might be produced. Be sure no one will be alarmed or disturbed by it.
  • Smudging (burning Sage and other sacred plants) is necessary during the session. Make sure there are no sensitive smoke detectors that might get triggered.
  • An accessible kitchen area to heat-up water for the session and to prepare herbal infusions or heat-up soup is optimal.

Participating and Holding Space in a Kambô Circle

Holding space basically means that we are willing to sit with another person in whatever journey they’re on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome. Many of us have a need to want to fix things, give advice or judge but when we truly hold space for other people, we open our heart and let go of judgment and Control. We cannot really support people in their growth, transformation, grief or similar by shaming, taking their power away or by overwhelming them. Instead, we need to step to the side So that they feel they are making their own choices as much as possible. We can offer them guidance if they ask for it, and help them feel safe even when they are distressed.

Very often this will mean making choices such as leaving someone to cry, resisting the urge to touch or hug someone while they are releasing, not intervening in another’s process and therefore stopping that process. This is something that we all need to look at in ourselves and understand what drives us to these behaviors. Holding Space means getting comfortable with allowing others to let go in whatever way they feel necessary.

What are clients saying about Kambô.

Karren Grieco

My name is Karren and before my first Kambo session, I was in a pretty stressful point of my life. I had some very hard family and relationship problems, stress from work, and was suffering from extreme anxiety. It seemed like my mind was always racing on a dew loop of negativity.  I was in a constant state of stress. I had felt like I was so wrapped up in the world with work and never-ending tasks. I felt like I had lost my touch with my spirit and intuition. I also wanted to detoxify my body.  Jose Luis had shared with me about Kambo. I was immediately interested and spent a lot of time researching it before my session. I thought it looked pretty extreme, but if I at least get a detox, I would be on the right track. Well, I got a lot more out of Kambo than a detox. My first purge was a physical detox and was relatively easy. I could not believe how good I felt. I had a surge of energy for weeks after the first session and I felt more at peace. I planned on 3 sessions in the first month. The second purge was more difficult. Different than the first. And again, I felt fantastic the next day. Like a superhero. Just seemed so much more clear in my head. I felt stronger at the gym. I felt like I was running efficiently physically. It was amazing.  The third was my emotional purge. This one is also difficult. It was the best gift of them all. It was strange because the message during the ceremony was so clear as it was happening. When he removed the medicine, I think I sobbed for 45 min. I never cry, but this was a good one.  After this session, I was very at peace. I had let go of hurt and anger in this session. It was like 10 years of counseling in a session to pop that emotional pimple. That is the only way I can put it into words.  I am now very at peace with those issues. My anxiety level is low. I have made some drastic changes in my life for the positive because I am in touch with my spirit and intuition again. I am now about to enter my 7th session next week. I have recommended this to all of my friends and they have participated in ceremonies. They thank me all the time because it has helped them in their lives as well. We call it the Frog Club, just for fun. It is safe and it is effective.
Sincerely,
Karren Grieco

What are clients saying about Structural Integration.

Katerina Satori

To Activate The Body Is To Stretch It…
And the deepest activation happens on the level of the fascia.

Hi, my name is Katerina Satori, I am an entrepreneur, mentor, and digital marketer, and I spent countless hours in front of my laptop.

Hello, posture problems, energy blocks in the body, and a lot of stress-related issues.

Working with Jose, I have learned more about my body in few sessions than in my entire life.

I have learned the exact locations where my body holds the most stress and the ways to release it at will.

I have learned the next level of respect and awareness for how the body works.

What I appreciate the most about Jose is the level of mastery he had developed in structural integration.

He brings all his presence, centered energy and patience to the process, explaining how each session will benefit your well-being and optimal performance in life and business.

That was the most valuable part for me in the entire experience: not only receive the body alignment but also gain a whole new level of understanding how I can interact with my body’s structure in a more healthy way.

I highly recommend Jose if you are looking to improve your relationship with your own body, learn to transmute stress through awareness, and improve your performance in your business/life.

Katerina Satori.

Leslie E.

First of all, this man is very easy to be around. You will feel very comfortable.

In just one look he can see where your body is out of alignment and knows what to do.

I’VE NOTICED A DIFFERENCE WITH EVERY SESSION & HAVE FAR LESS PAIN NOW….
and i still have 7 more sessions to go! (I’ve done 3.) What was most impressive was after he worked on one side, he had me get up and walk around to feel the difference. It was so obvious that I could actually see the difference in the mirror.

After years of endless massages, I think I have finally found the MOST EFFECTIVE FORM OF BODYWORK.

I am training a lot lately and would have had to take time off had I not made the decision to see Jose over the last few weeks. I am so very grateful and excited to allow my newly trained structure to emerge with ease….Ahhhhhh!!!!!

Elizabeth S.

José Luis is a truly gifted practitioner. He has an extensive knowledge of SI and explains the process in a clear and understandable way throughout the sessions. He has enabled me to feel more connected to my body, breathe deeper, move more freely, and stand taller.

I had a lot of pain, specifically in my neck, before going to see José Luis, and after sessions with him, the pain is not there anymore and I even have more movement in my neck than before…pain free!

Besides being an amazing practitioner, José Luis also has a very comforting and calming energy about him, which I feel is very important. This is a deep practice and I felt safe and taken care of the entire time, he has a very nurturing way about him, which is such an important part of the success of the experience.

I can’t say enough about the benefits this has brought me, I can’t remember feeling this good.

Serra-Lynn S.

I came to Jose Luis in excruciating pain.  Some injuries from childhood had been slowly creeping up on me & hit a crescendo.  I couldn’t even breath without wanting to climb out of my body & was beginning to lose hope.  It took a few sessions until I was really feeling back to normal since the series works in a specific order & certain things had to be released before we could even get to the root of the problems.  However, even after the first session I began to notice a difference.  You hear of the work being painful & I thin this deters many people from trying it, yet Jose Luis’ touch is gentle yet effective.  I have been recommending Him to everyone as I think everyone should do this work in order to be more fully ourselves.

Sherri S.

I have been searching for over 20 years for something to help with my chronic pain in my neck my shoulders my back. I have finally found the help I’ve been seeking -structural integration with Jose Luis!!!
Wow I can’t thank you enough for how much better my body feels – each session I just get better and better.
He has the skills, knowledge and gifted hands. Thank you

Karin Edwards Wagner

José Luis is a skilled and knowledgeable practitioner. Structural Integration is a powerful method for making lasting changes in structure and movement. Highly recommended for athletes and dancers, the young and the old, actually really for anyone who lives in a human body.

Nicole de Pasquale

Beautiful studio; very relaxing and tranquil with beautiful views and an ocean breeze which helps to relax the body and the mind. José Luis’s knowledge and professionalism was the foundation of an amazing experience. His calm nature and gentle touch made it easy to feel safe and comfortable throughout the sessions.
His ability to communicate how the body works allowed me to become more aware of what I was doing to my body and how to fix it. He was able to teach me how to reach from my spine and to allow my hands to propel my arms, not from my shoulders, which has made a significant difference in my everyday functioning. Throughout the series, he provides movement skills that will help keep your machine working correctly.
The SI work opened my body up and freed most of the restrictions I was experiencing.

[ FASCIA ]

Form and function are a unity, two sides of one coin. In order to enhance function, appropriate form must exist or be created.

–Dr. Ida P Rolf

There is a soft tissue in your body called fascia. Fascia is not only a seamless membrane that surrounds your body, not only muscles, beneath your skin. To state that fascia is everywhere in the body is far from overstating things.  Fascia is everywhere.

Have you ever wondered why is it so difficult to hold up good posture? Something your fascia does is that it has a memory. Whatever you do with your body, your fascia will try and help by building collagenous tissue around that movement or posture.

If you work for hours slouched in front of a computer, your fascia will try to help, your fascia will remember. No wonder why when you stand up after working several hours on your desk, it’s so difficult to have good posture. Your fascia is pulling you back to where it remembers.

It is vitally important to understand that fascia also dives deep into your body: it envelops bones, muscles, muscle groups, muscle fibers, all your organs and even cells. Fascia connects muscle to bone and bone to bone, (tendons, ligaments, vertebrae discs are considered a part of this system too).

An important fact about fascia is that it can get dehydrated over time due to repetitive movement or immobility. This can cause all kinds of compressions and holding patterns in your body which in some cases is the cause of injury.

Fascia is similar to a dried out sponge in that it dries, hardens and becomes brittle, easily torn at the slightest pull. But unlike a dried out sponge which becomes springy and resilient when rehydrated, when fascia tissue dehydrates it becomes somehow water-resistant, so all the fluid we drink simply passes through us without reaching the dry tissue.

Reconditioning this tissue so that it may regain its original fluidity can be achieved by some forms of manual therapy like Structural Integration. A well hydrated and conditioned fascia is key for achieving comfort, flexibility, ease, fluidity of motion and strength.

[ HISTORY ]

God didn’t come down and tell me; I had to find it out through many years of experience. The work came first; the inspiration came later.

–Dr. Ida P Rolf

Dr. Ida P. Rolf (1896-1979) was an American scientist who began her career in biochemistry. She turned her attention into helping her family and friends with their physical problems and having studied with some of the first generation osteopaths, she learned soft-tissue manipulation techniques.

Over a period of about thirty years, Dr. Rolf developed and refined her methods. She originally called her work Structural Integration, but some of her clients at Esalen jokingly remarked they were going to be ‘Rolfed’. So the word ‘Rolfing’ stuck and is today a registered service mark with the Rolf Institute.

Different offshoots came out of Structural Integration: The Rolf Institute, The Guild for Structural Integration, Hellerwork (Joseph Heller), Postural Integration (Jack Painter), Zen Bodytherapy (Dub Leigh), KMI (Tom Meyers), etc.

Before Structural Integration, there were only a few systems that had looked into the human body structure in a systematic and scientific way. Hatha yoga, osteopathy and the work of a few isolated therapists.

Before the 20th century, yoga was no doubt far ahead in investigating the human structure and devising a set of techniques to change it. The whole realm of yoga is huge and focuses on many aspects. Structural alignment is only a minor part of this system, it’s seen as secondary to the spiritual and meditational aspects of it.

When Yoga reached the west it had to adapt to its values. It became a huge potential for structural balance improvement, a way of maintaining lengthened structure but not necessarily an integrated one.

Osteopathy was the first modern Western approach to see the integration of the body as an important component of health. It views structure through the skeleton and works by gently manipulating soft tissue and freeing capsular restrictions around joints.

SI TENSEGRITY 2018-01-16T17:53:48+00:00

[ TENSEGRITY ]

Form and function are a unity, two sides of one coin. In order to enhance function, appropriate form must exist or be created.

–Dr. Ida P Rolf

All your life you’ve been told to be strong, to straighten your back, tuck your stomach in. This rigidness provided you with the illusion of strength, sort of like an armor. What if I tell you that instead, it makes you brittle, more propense to injury?

Let’s talk about two forces. Tensional force and compressional force. Tension is basically pull and compression is push. A compressional structure is something like a wall. One element pushing over the other element being the element at the bottom the most weight bearing. A tensional structure is a bit more complex.

Tensegrity structures are hard to describe if you don’t have them experiencing on your hands. They are a bunch of struts connected by elastic bands. One of the first things to notice is that in a tensegrity structure is that the struts (the compressional elements) are not touching each other. The structure is held by the tensional elements (the elastic bands).

The whole structure is interconnected. If you affect an area, you will affect the structure as a whole, giving it great adaptability and lots of flexibility. Whenever two elements of the structure are pulled apart, the rest of the structure also expands making it resilient. You can throw a tensegrity structure to the floor and it absorbs the shock very efficiently. It is strong by adapting.

Bridges, stadiums, houses and many other structures use this same concept. Structural Integration considers tensegrity structures as an analogy to the living body.

Obviously, the body is far more complex but we can still apply the concept. A foot or a hand can be a tensegrity structure on its own.

SI aims to reclaim the space that was lost due to fascial constrictions, so the body, like a tensegrity structure becomes stronger and resilient to injury by becoming adaptable.

[ WHAT is STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION ]

An effective human being is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

–Dr. Ida P Rolf

Structural Integration works by strategically affecting the shortened fascia in your body by means of hands-on bodywork and movement. Because changes in your myofascial system cannot be done at once, the work is divided into ten sessions of approximately 90 minutes each.

Each session focuses on a different area of your body and has a goal. The first three address the superficial fascia. The next four work on the core. And the last three are about balancing and connecting the length achieved through the previous sessions.

Throughout the sessions, as the fascia in your body gets released, the practitioner will teach you how to integrate your newly aligned body into your posture and movement patterns repertoire.

The innate spirit within Kambô is very intelligent , it knows where there is work to be done and on what levels.  It has its own unique way of breaking through blockages and dis-ease in the body, mind, and spirit.  Asking only for us to trust and to surrender as it works in and through us. Each and every experience with Kambô will be different, and each time it will reveal new perspectives, insights and healing.

Rape-and-Sananga 2018-01-16T16:10:38+00:00

[ RAPÉ and SANANGA ]

Kambô works on a spiritual level as well as a physical one. It initiates a deeper understanding of our feelings; by bringing up that which has been suppressed and long forgotten.

Sacred Rapé

Rapé pronounced “hapeh”, is an ancient traditional Amazonian medicine. Rapé is made from leaves, seeds, spices, bark, oils, herbs and flowers from medicinal plants, roots, and trees.  It usually includes Mapacho, also known as jungle tobacco, that is ground and roasted then mixed with ash from sacred wood.

Frequent additions added to make a blend may include Cocoa, Tonka bean, Kava Kava, Cinnamon, and Eucalyptus leaves.  The combinations vary enormously from tribe to tribe and also determine it’s strength and power.  The making of Rapé is a very sacred and labor-intensive process.

The use of Rapé is considered to be therapeutic on many levels. On the mental level, it is known for cleansing the mind, as well as helping one to focus, ground and center. On the physical level, Rapé is known in helping to clear and strengthen the sinuses, relieve a headache, and to aid in the decalcification of the pineal gland.  Tribes also use it to connect more deeply with nature’s rhythms, to relax and acquire insights and visions for hunting.

During a Kambô session, Rapé may be used to cleanse and release energetic blockages, to trigger or deepen a purge, and also to assist with grounding and centering.

Rapé is taken via the nose.  Breathing is momentarily suspended while it is blown into both nostrils, one at a time.  There is usually a stinging and burning sensation that lasts a few minutes, which is followed by a deepening awareness and clarity.

Rapé is a very rare, sacred, and profoundly powerful healing and cleansing medicine.

Sacred Sananga

Sananga is a traditional Amazonian eye medicine made from the fermented shredded root of a shrub called, Tabernaemontana Undulata, from the Amazon.  The active ingredient is Ibogaine.  Sananga has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous people of Peru and Brazil. These powerful eye drops operate on many levels of healing physical, spiritual, and energetic. The active ingredient acts directly on the root causes of disease, diluting the forces that create Panema (negative energy), depression, and psychosomatic conditions.

On a physical level, it clears and refreshes the eyes, and has been indicated in the treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, dry and red eyes, sinusitis, and chronic headaches. Sananga is also being used as an ally in the treatment of chronic pain. In the Amazon, tribes use the drops before hunting to sharpen their vision and enhance their perception to make it easier to spot animals in the dense, dark forest.  Sananga brings immediate visual awareness, it gives the environment greater texture and depth, including color perception and image definition.

On an energetic level, it opens and clears the third eye, expands the aura and balances the chakras. Sananga is a pale green/ brown color and has a slight fermented burnt smell.  When applied to the eyes it stings for several minutes depending on the strength.  A very strong, fresh batch may be quite intense and may cause redness and tearing of the eyes for 15-30 minutes.  Local tribes refer to Sananga as “Lighting in the eyes”.

Sananga is a potent medicine that clears the mind and body of distractive energies which allows for new ways of perceiving, seeing and focusing on life.

[ KAMBÔ SCIENCE ]

Kambô has the ability it cross the blood brain-barrier enabling it to reach deep into the body and bring lasting support.

Kambô is an incredible and unique chemical cocktail that contains dozens of Peptides (short chains of amino acids). Some of these Peptides are bioactive which means they have an affinity and selectivity for binding to cell receptor sites in humans. A receptor is like a lock that, when opened with the right key, the bioactive peptide triggers a chemical reaction in the body.

As far as we know, Kambô contains around 139 peptides known to be crucial to the health, function, growth, and repair of our systems; from breathing, circulation, digestion, nervous system functions to cognitive function, like attention and memory, Kambô contains a truly remarkable spectrum of building blocks.

The properties of the peptides found in Kambô also cover a wide range of potential medical uses ranging from: cancer, addiction, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Candida, fibromyalgia, depression, PTSD, anxiety, chronic fatigue, acute pain, migraines, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ disease, skin and eye issues, fertility problems, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, etc.

Dr. Vittorio Espamer

Vittorio Erspamer, of the University of Rome, an Italian pharmacologist, and chemist, known for the identification, synthesis and pharmacological studies of more than sixty new chemical compounds was the first to analyze Kambô in the laboratory.  He was twice nominated for a Nobel prize and was also responsible for first discovering the well-known neurotransmitters serotonin and octopamine.

The research activities of Erspamer spanned more than 60 years and resulted in the isolation, identification, synthesis and pharmacological study of more than sixty new chemical compounds. Among these compounds were polypeptides and biogenic amines, and also some alkaloids. Most of these compounds were isolated from animals, predominantly amphibians.

Erspamer concluded that Kambô contains a ‘fantastic chemical cocktail with potential medical applications, unequaled by any other amphibian’.  His findings brought great attention to the area of peptides which have since become very important to the medical field.

[ KAMBÔ HISTORY ]

“When things aren’t going right in your life, its the right time to take Kambô”

-Matses Tribe

The Kaxinawá Legend

There is a Kaxinawá legend tells that the natives from a village were very ill and their Pajé (medicine man in Brazil) had done everything that was possible to cure them. All medicinal herbs known were used, but none helped his people.

Under the effect of sacred plant medicines, he entered the forest and whilst there received a visit from a female spirit of the forest, The Grandmother. She brought in her hands a large green frog from which she took a white milky secretion, and taught the Pajé how to apply it.

Returning to the tribe and following the guidelines that he had received, the Pajé was able to cure his people. From then on he was known as Pajé Kampu and after his death, the tribe believed that his spirit passed into the frog and they began to use its secretion to stay active, healthy and strong.

After his death, his spirit lived on in the frog where it continued its mission to protect the health of those who defended the forest. The natives continue to use its secretion to stay active and healthy. The secretion became known as Kambô but in some tribes, it is called Sapo, Kampu, or vacina da floresta. Its usage spread, and it is still used widely amongst indigenous people in the Amazon to this day although the rituals vary from tribe to tribe.

Kambô in Western Cultures

Father Constantin Tastevin, a French missionary, made the first recorded observations about Kambô in 1925 while he was staying with the Kaxinawás in Brazil.

In the 1980’s the American anthropologist Katherine Milton described Kambô use among the Mayoruna tribe in Brazil. Soon after, Peter Gorman experienced Sapo with the Matses tribe in Perú.

In the 1990’s, rubber trappers learned about the properties of Kambô from the indigenous tribes and began to take it out into the towns and apply it themselves. Francisco Gomes from Cruzeiro do Sol was one of the first westerners to pioneer the use of Kambô outside of the Amazon.

Kambo Sessions 2018-10-11T17:46:43+00:00

[ KAMBÔ SESSIONS ]

The Frog is the universal symbol of the embracing of personal power.

What to Expect During a Kambô Session

Kambô is known as an “ordeal” medicine, it is intense but fast, and the unpleasant effects are strong and immediate and only last for about 20-30 minutes.

Before the application, health issues, intention, and any other questions will be discussed. If the session is happening in a group environment you may request to discuss it in private. Specific treatments and point locations will also be discussed.

The practitioner will proceed to burn the dots. The top thin layer of skin is blistered with an incense stick and the skin is peeled off to expose the epidermis underneath; this is not as deep as when you have a blister and the skin rubs off. There is no blood.

At this moment you will start drinking about two liters of water while the practitioner prepares the Kambô. You need to drink the water only a few minutes before applying the Kambô otherwise it will start being processed by the body and won’t be available for the purge.

The dried Kambô is mixed with a small amount of water and divided into small dots that have a glue-like texture. Then small points called gates are placed on the surface of the skin. The points are approximately 1/8 inch across but can be smaller or slightly larger, depending on the treatment.

Kambô enters directly into the lymphatic system so the effect is almost immediate. Most people experience a warm to hot flush on the upper body and face along with increased heart rate right after the first minute of application.

Within a few seconds most feel a slight prickly feeling, along with hot flushing in the upper body and face along with increased heart rate. Some clients feel tingling sensations in their hands and feet, and may experience slight swelling in the face, ears and throat.

Kambô works with your intention and what is needed in the moment. It moves quickly within your body, scanning for problems and then going directly to work on those areas. You may experience throbbing or burning sensations in the places where the medicine is working on them.

Blood pressure will rise and then fall, at which point nausea is experienced and the desire to purge will occur. As blood pressure slowly falls, many will feel dizzy, weak, foggy, shaky and may even briefly faint. The discomfort present is the accumulation of toxins (physical and emotional) in your body wanting to exit. Purging can take a number of forms including vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, crying and sounding.

After purging, nausea will subside and the medicine is taken off of the skin. Within a short time (usually 20-30 minutes or so) you will feel much better and will desire to eat and drink.

Directly afterwards many feel an increase of energy, stamina, clarity and wellbeing, for some it may take a few days of feeling a bit more tired and weak, but within a day or so, depending on your state of health, you will begin to feel the real lasting benefits of your Kambô treatment.

After the dots of Kambô are removed, the points are dressed with a Peruvian tree sap solution ‘Sangre de Grado’ (Dragon’s Blood). This helps them to heal faster and ensures they stay free from infection until they scab naturally within a day or so.

The burn marks will heal and fade with time, but depending on your skin color and type you may always have small visible scars. Most people see their Kambô marks as a badge of honor to be worn proudly and many ask to have the dots arranged on the skin in a pleasing artistic pattern. The same burn points can be reused after 2-3 months.

What is Kambo? 2018-10-11T20:27:46+00:00

[ WHAT is KAMBÔ? ]

Frog only ask us to trust, allow and surrender. Kambô is said to help aid in removing anything that does not serve us and helps to bring a person back to his/her natural state of harmony and balance.

Kambô is a secretion collected from the Amazonian tree frog, Phyllomedusa Bicolor, found in the jungles of South America. It’s also known as Sapo, Kampu or ‘vacina da floresta’ (vaccine of the forest).

Kambô detoxifies the body and offers a natural way to empower and boost your immune system; it has potent anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-viral properties. It’s one of the strongest natural antibiotics and anesthetics found naturally in the world.

At a mental level, your mind becomes more focused and still. An increased resistance to stress. Everything feels calmer and becomes easier to manage. You feel lighter.

Kambô is legal here in the United States, as well as all other countries, and it is NOT a hallucinogenic.

When Kambô is harvested, the frogs are treated with the utmost care and reverence, all the tribes have a deep respect and love for them, as they are considered teachers, healers and the carriers of sacred medicine.

Benefits of Kambô

Kambô is said to remove “anything that does not serve us” and bring the person back to their natural state of perfect harmony and highest physical, emotional, and spiritual potential, reconnecting one to self.

Kambôoffers a full-body detoxification and a natural way to empower and boost your immune system. It also has potent anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-viral properties, being one of the strongest natural antibiotics and anesthetics found naturally in the world.

Immediate and short-term effects include enhanced mood; focused mind; energy; and increased resistance to stress, tiredness, hunger, and thirst. The mind becomes still and you feel lighter. Everything becomes easier to manage.

In the long term, Kambô empowers the immune system by rousing the body’s defenses to their natural functions so that existing health problems are improved or resolved and future ones are less likely to occur.

At a mental level, your mind becomes more focused and still. An increased resistance to stress. Everything feels calmer and becomes easier to manage. You feel lighter.

In spiritual terms, Kambô works in a mystical fashion as a light that opens the way, helping to overcome obstacles and release blockages on an emotional level. It clears the energy field and realigns the chakras enabling one to break negative habits and think more naturally.

The properties of the peptides found in Kambô also cover a wide range of potential medical uses ranging from:  cancer, addiction, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Candida, fibromyalgia, depression, PTSD, anxiety, chronic fatigue, acute pain, migraines, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ disease, skin and eye issues, fertility problems, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, Lyme’s, autoimmune disorders, etc.

Kambô in its original, natural form is a holistic treatment that works on the mind, body, energy, and spirit at all levels in ways that we still do not completely understand.  The natives are quite right to use the word ‘magic’ when describing this substance.

Traditional Uses of Kambô

Traditionally Kambô is used by many tribes such as the Matses, Katukina, Yawanawa, and Maruba. The use of Kambô differs amongst tribes, but the main traditional uses revolve around lifting panema (an indigenous name for dark or negative energy) and for hunting magic (by increasing speed and energy during hunting and making the hunter invisible by temporarily eliminating human odor).

Amazonian tribes also use Kambô medicinally for malaria; snake bites; fevers; infections; fertility problems; to cleanse, detox, and strengthen the mind and body; to increase energy and stamina, and to reduce pain.

The Kambô Frog

The Scientific name of this frog is the Phyllomedusa Bicolor, meaning two-colored leaf guardian.  The frog is also known as the “Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog” and it is found abundantly throughout the Amazon Rainforest in areas of Colombia, Perú, Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, and the Guianas.

The Phyllomedusa Bicolor is a nocturnal, arboreal frog with no natural predators.  They are large frogs, the males being around 10 cm and females 12 cm in length.  Their bodies are a bright glowing green on top and a creamy white underbelly. It also has dark spots on the chest and legs.

Reproduction occurs all throughout the year.  Working together, the male and female construct a beautiful hanging tree nest above the forest pools.  A  single frog spawn contains on average 1,000 eggs, from which tiny tadpoles emerge within 11-14 days.

The IUCN Endangered Species database lists them in the category of “least concern”.  The only threat to this species of frog is the potential destruction of their habitat, the Amazonian Rainforest.

[ KAMBÔ ]

Nothing but good news.
There is a frog in South America whose venom is a cure.
For all the suffering that mankind must endure.
More powerful than morphine and soothing as the rain.
A frog in South America has the antidote to pain.
That’s the way it’s always been and that’s the way I like it.

–Paul Simon (Señorita with a Necklace of Tears)

Kambô is a deep cleansing therapy that detoxifies the body very effectively on all levels: physical, emotional and mentally. It comes from the secretion of the Phyllomedusa Bicolor frog and has been used for thousands of years in the Amazon.  Kambô is safe, not hallucinogenic and is 100% legal in the US and all other countries.

The TEN SESSIONS

The Superficial Sessions : (1, 2 & 3}

These are the superficial sessions. The “sleeve” of your body is the outer fascial layer. This is the part of your body that does the “doing”, the fast movements. You can think of it as the sleeve or thin wet-suit just underneath your skin. The goal of these sessions is to open, lengthen, and organize these extrinsic layers. This will create space for the deeper layers to unwind and release.

The Core Sessions : 4, 5, 6 & 7

These are also referred to as the ‘deep’ sessions. The “core” of your body is the inner fascial layer. This part of your body is your “beingness”, the area of slow, postural movements. The goal of these sessions is to open, lengthen, and organize these intrinsic layers.

The Integrative Sessions : 8, 9 & 10

The first seven sessions are about taking the body apart to get the individual parts working better. The last cycle of sessions is about putting the individual parts back together into a better functioning whole. This is the place where the sleeve and the core meet and interact. You will begin to experience motion, initiated by your core layer, smoothly and efficiently transmit out through the sleeve layer of your body.
